Prof. Richard Perassi’s new book, From Point To Pixel (Do Ponto ao Pixel), it is now available. According to the Professor, “Currently, images from different origins and styles are constantly accessible, being viewed on the video digital apparatus of computer systems. Even images can be produced, reproduced and published on digital networks such as the Internet, This is possible for people who, at least minimally, have access to and some knowledge of digital-electronic devices with graphic and photographic capabilities. Today, computers, tablets, smartphones and digital camera phones offer a variety of resources for image capture, processing and production due to software or applications installed on different devices, according to the characteristics of their technological configuration. In its entirety, the digital image is structurally graphic. Since, once scanned, even hand-painted images or photographed with traditional techniques are now configured by dots or pixels. Similar to traditional graphics printing points, pixels are minimal visual units. But in addition to visually composing the various images on the video digital screen, pixels are elements whose position on the Cartesian plane of the video digital screen is logically identified.
